Application

Colorless, pungent liquid, soluble in water. Mixed with ethanol and ether. Content: 75% isopentric acid and 25% noropentric acid, used to produce bromoisopentyl urea, a sedative hypnotic drug. Used to produce spices (80% of the total azeotropy in Japan).The flavoring isopentyl esters are mainly isopentate, propyl isopentate, isopentate, benzyl isopentate and cinnamate isopentate. The lower isopentyl esters are used as edible spices, while the higher isopentyl esters are used in cosmetics. Isopentric acid is naturally found in valerian oil, vanilla oil, hops oil, bay leaf oil, liuxiang oil, etc. China gb2760-86 for the permitted edible spices.

Mainly used for making cheese and cream flavor, but also for fruit flavor. Used for perfumes, perfumes, plasticizers and lubricants.
